Voice control and workout audio run on two separate connections. GMVoice runs on your phone, while music, trainer prompts and system sounds come from the Gym Monster. The most common cause is that your headphones are still connected to your phone instead of the Gym Monster audio path, so the machine has nowhere to send its sound.
Check these in order
The audio path starts at the Gym Monster and ends at your headphones, so every check below is on that side. A USB Bluetooth audio transmitter plugged into the USB hub on the Gym Monster is what carries the sound, and pairing happens between that transmitter and your headphones.
- Confirm your headphones are paired with the Gym Monster audio path, not your phone.
- Plug a USB Bluetooth audio transmitter into the USB hub on the Gym Monster.
- Put the transmitter into pairing mode, then your headphones into pairing mode.
- Reset pairing on the transmitter and keep the headphones close during setup.
- Switch the Gym Monster music source to Speediance Music and test system sounds.
- Adjust the Gym Monster music volume and the in-workout prompt volume separately.
Why the music does not come from GMVoice
GMVoice controls the Gym Monster, it does not carry the audio. The Gym Monster sends music, trainer prompts and system sounds through its own Bluetooth transmitter, while your phone runs GMVoice and sends commands. Neither path takes over the other, so the music keeps playing while you speak a command.
I hear music but no trainer prompts
Switch the Gym Monster music source to Speediance Music, which blends music volume, system sounds and trainer prompts. Some users report that the Gym Monster Bluetooth or Apple Music options do not blend them the same way, so you may hear music while prompts or system audio do not mix as expected.
