How to Stream Gym Monster Music to AirPods While Using GMVoice

April 29, 2026 6 min read

A common question from Speediance Gym Monster owners is simple: can I hear my workout music in AirPods or wireless headphones and still use GMVoice for hands-free commands?

Yes. The cleanest way is to split the setup into two separate jobs: let your iPhone handle GMVoice commands, and let the Gym Monster send workout audio to your headphones through a dedicated Bluetooth audio transmitter.

The Setup: Two Separate Connections

This setup uses one connection for GMVoice voice commands and another connection for Gym Monster audio. The iPhone runs the GMVoice app, while the Gym Monster sends music and workout sounds through a separate Bluetooth transmitter.

What You Need

This is an advanced setup, but the parts are straightforward. The exact brands are not mandatory, but this is the hardware pattern:

If you do not want to use a clip-on mic, you can still use the iPhone microphone or wireless headphones with a mic for GMVoice. The dedicated mic simply keeps your voice input closer and more consistent while the AirPods are reserved for Gym Monster audio.

Step 1: Connect GMVoice to the Gym Monster

Start with the control side first. Connect your USB hub to the Gym Monster, then plug the GMVoice dongle into the hub. Open the GMVoice app on your iPhone and connect it to the dongle over Bluetooth.

If you are using a Boya Mini 2 or similar microphone, connect the receiver to the iPhone USB-C port and place the microphone where it can hear you clearly. Then test your normal commands before adding music into the setup.

Good first test: keep the room quiet, open GMVoice, and confirm that commands like "Jarvis,Start" and "Jarvis, Stop" are recognized before pairing your headphones for music.

Step 2: Send Gym Monster Audio to Your Headphones

Now set up the music side. Plug the Avantalk C82, or a similar USB Bluetooth audio transmitter, into the same USB hub, using its USB-A adapter if your hub needs it. Put the transmitter into pairing mode, then put your AirPods or wireless headphones into pairing mode.

Once paired, the Gym Monster audio should route through the transmitter to your headphones. At this point your headphones are not connected to the iPhone for workout audio. They are connected to the Gym Monster's audio path.

Step 3: Use Speediance Music for Audio Blending

The important detail is the music source. In this setup, use Speediance Music on the Gym Monster if you want a blend of music volume, system sounds, and trainer prompts.

Some users report that the Gym Monster's Bluetooth or Apple Music options do not blend music with system sounds and trainer prompts the same way. That means you may hear music, but prompts or system audio may not mix as expected. Until Speediance improves that behavior, Speediance Music is the practical choice for this dual-path setup.
