How to Use GMVoice with Google Assistant on Android

By Peter Fridrich · Published May 5, 2026 · 3 min read

GMVoice on Android can expose a small set of Google Assistant App Actions, so you can trigger key Gym Monster controls with your voice.

The Android Google Assistant integration is intentionally simple right now. There are only two actions: Barbell On and Long Press.

How Google Assistant Gets the Actions

On Android, these commands come from the GMVoice Android app package itself.

After GMVoice is available through Google Play, Google Assistant can make the available App Actions visible.

In practice, open GMVoice after installing or updating it so Assistant has the latest app actions available.

Before testing: install GMVoice on Android, open the app once, and connect it to your Gym Monster setup. Then try the Assistant commands.

Commands to Try First

Start with the full command that explicitly names the app:

When to Use These Commands

Barbell On is the quick command for turning the barbell on without touching the Gym Monster screen.

Long Press is useful when you need the same press-and-hold style action that GMVoice already supports during training.

For more advanced voice workflows, use the main GMVoice app commands directly. Google Assistant support on Android is deliberately limited to these two actions for now.

Install GMVoice from Google Play, connect it to your Gym Monster, and test the two Google Assistant actions.
